Of course! Because we understand it’s hard to make a decision based on photos alone, we’ve put together a sample necklace that lets you test all our colours in your own interior. An added bonus: you’ll receive 10% off your first order! How cool is that!?

Of couuurse we can deliver custom products! We love thinking along with your project and are always open to crazy challenges. There are of course technical limitations to the material, but we’re always happy to brainstorm with you about your project, completely free of obligation.

Your KNIK is made to order by Laura and Stefan in our atelier in Friesland, and this usually takes 5 working days before it’s shipped. Of course, it can happen that the colour you ordered isn’t in stock, in which case we’ll first need to order the material from our supplier, and then it can take up to 15 working days.

We deliberately choose this approach because we don’t want to order unnecessary stock, as small orders often create a lot of cutting waste. This is a typical example of the difference between fast furniture and our sustainable handmade furniture 🙂

Yep! Through our supplier we can source many different materials. Opaque materials, speckled materials, matte materials — we have access to a wide range of crazy sheets!

KNIK has been around since 2021, when it was founded by Marte and Marina in Dokkum. After 3 fun and very busy years, they handed KNIKSTUDIO over to us; Laura, Stefan and Jorrit. With great passion and enthusiasm, we took over the company and want to keep developing this wonderful product by adding our own twist to it. Laura already had a great passion for restoring and building furniture, Stefan absolutely loves the making process, and Jorrit really enjoys designing and the online side of things. Together we form a great team that can give every KNIK all the love it needs 😉

We get this question a lot, and that’s of course understandable. PMMA is known for the fact that after a few years some small scratches can become visible. Personally, we really don’t mind this at all, because it’s part of the material. A table with a few scratches is also a table with a story.

If you do want to touch up those small scratches, there’s a polishing compound for this — just send us a DM via Instagram and we can help you with the process. This can simply be done with a clean cloth and some polishing compound. The availability of the right polishing compounds sometimes varies, so it’s wise to get in touch with us via Instagram.

Beyond that, we do recommend using coasters on your table — that always helps a lot 😉

A KNIK can take a lot, but you do need to be a little careful with it. We’ve tested heavy pots on the plant tables and can confidently say that anything up to 10kg on these tables is perfectly fine. So for normal use that’s absolutely no problem. With children you do need to be a bit careful, because the wonderful colours sometimes make it a magnet for kids to play on. A KNIK isn’t made for that, so do try to avoid it 🙂

Sustainable furniture

Made to last

Many plexiglass tables are thin, cheaply produced, and fade or crack after a few years in the sun. A KNIK is the opposite:

8 mm cast, 100% recycled acrylic — sturdy and durable, no thin imported plexiglass
Colour all the way through — UV-proof, never peels, yellows or cracks
Handmade in our own studio in NL — no mass production
Fully recyclable — no throwaway, built to last a lifetime

No seasonal trend, but a timeless table that grows with you and moves with you.
